When it rains and you get drenched
it’s your fault for not checking the weather.
I’ve realized that the things we complain about stem mostly from our own laziness, or inattentiveness. My life for the past few weeks has been rough, to say the least. My performance in school is poor (and declining still). I get less sleep every night, yet I also get less done when I’m awake. It doesn’t make sense—or I’m not making sense. I just sit back and let these kinds of things pile up until they wall me in, and I can’t see anything else. And then I start taking the bad as “normal.” I shrug it off.
But that’s the root of the problem. I promised myself earlier today that I would be more proactive. Stop moping, start doing. Start now.
I will study harder. I will patch up my Microeconomics grade.I will write daily schedules for myself so I won’t fall behind. I will keep up with my social and academic life. I will ACE my midterms. I will ace my finals. I will finally catch up in Modern Israel. I will keep up with my extracurriculars. I will make the most of my time. I will limit my time on Facebook. I will not waste hours watching soaps. I will read the news. I will apply for internships. I will apply for scholarships. I will give everything 110 percent. I will. I will. I will.
